AYURVEDA SECRETS FOR A HEALTHY SEX LIFE
Most of us have been given a veiled theocratic brought up, that we believe traditional school to promote sex just to indulge in for reproductive purposes. However, this is not true as per the ancient science of India.
Ayurveda
doesn’t restrict sex only to reproduction. Rather it says sex can nourish us
deeply and should be indulged in from time to time. But there are a few rules
to implement this effectively.
So,
let’s have a look at what the school of Ayurveda defines for us when it comes
to healthy sex.
IS SEX GOOD FOR HEALTH?
The ability to perform sex and
having a strong sexual appetite are signs of good health, according to
Ayurveda. Sex promotes good health as well as longevity.
DOES SEX HELP US LOOK YOUNGER?
In Ayurveda, one of the main
causes of aging is dryness in the
body, which may be caused by various reasons including lack of healthy
secretions in and out of the body. Sex promotes the body's healthy secretions,
as it is a form of physical exercise that results in mild or rigorous sweating
and ultimately an orgasm. Hence, sex is believed to help us look young and
healthy with a radiant skin.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO INDULGE IN SEX?
When we perform any activity that increases Kapha during the hours of Kapha (6 am to 10 am, and 6 pm to 10 pm), the effects of that activity are multiplied. Thus, when we have sex in the evening, we experience an extra boost of Kapha, which usually helps us to have a good night sleep. However, sex in the morning is not recommended for all as it can aggravate kapha, thereby resulting in tiredness, laziness, and lethargy. So, only a healthy individual can copulate rigorously in the morning, in order to counteract kapha.
WHY ARE MEN
MORE CHARGED UP IN THE DAY TIME?
Vata time i.e.,
between 2:00 am and 6:00 am in the early morning and between 2:00 pm and 6:00
pm in the late afternoon, are the best times for physical interaction for men.
Vata increases the
flow of blood to the penis and, therefore, a man's erection is likely to be strongest
during this time. Hence, for men having problems like erectile dysfunction can
try performing around 5 am or 5 pm. Whereas, men with premature ejaculation can
prefer doing it at night around 9 pm.
WHAT’S THE BEST
SEASON & AGE TO HAVE SEX?
According to
Ayurveda, your sex life is governed by the four seasons during which your body
strength changes.
The body strength
is the lowest during the monsoon and summer, hence have less sex during that
time (once in fifteen days).
With moderate body
strength, sex once in three days is advisable during spring.
During winter the
body strength is at its peak, hence one can have sex daily.
Similarly, it
depends on our time of life too. The best age group for physical communication
is between 21 to 60 years as our body is the strongest at that time. Sexual
activities before or after that may lead to various health issues.
IS OVERINDULGENCE IN SEX UNHEALHTY?
Ayurveda believes that our bodies are made of 7
essential tissues or dhatus, which are created in the body one after the other.
Shukra Dhatu is formed at the end which takes about a month long.
The sexual
fluids, or the shukra dhatu, are thus products of a lot of effort from our
body. And from these fluids come a furthermore concentrated form called the
ojas; which is our radiance, our vigour. It influences everything in
our body - from our immunity, digestion, physical strength, and the health of
our skin to our spiritual inclination, sleep, and mood.
WHAT ARE THE SEX RULES IN AYURVEDA?
As per Ayurveda, healthy sex life is very much a reality
provided one diligently follows these golden sex rules -
• Sex on empty stomach
or immediately after a heavy meal can trigger a plethora of health problems by affecting
the digestive system.
• Perform sex only when
your private parts are clean and healthy, as this helps to prevent infections
and associated complications.
• Ayurveda also
recommends fidelity and restricting your sex life to a single partner.
• Ayurveda does not
advocate the practice of physical contact on days of prime significance; such
as festivals, eclipses and full moon or new moon nights.
AYURVEDIC DIET
& LIFESTYLE TIPS FOR A GOOD SEX LIFE -
• Have foods that are natural aphrodisiacs and stimulate the production of Shukra dhatu, such as ghee, coconut juice and milk.
• One can use
Ayurvedic supplements like Ashwagandha, Shilajit, Suvarna bhasma (purified
gold), Nutmeg and Saffron, which helps to boost your stamina level, sexual
desire and treat various sexual problems too. Make sure to have them under the
guidance of an Ayurvedic doctor.
• Practice
Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation regularly for a healthy sex life, as it can
prompt an increase in sex hormones; thereby improving desire, arousal,
orgasm and overall satisfaction.
• Maintain proper hygiene standards pre and post activity.
Nevertheless, the
biggest secret of a healthy and happy sex life is being fit as a fiddle. Hence,
follow an Ayurvedic way of life to charge you up with both physical and mental
wellness.
