THRISSUR, NOV 27:
A 32-member Italian delegation has come to India to learn ‘Panchakarma’, an ayurvedic technique of cleansing body and mind, at a private Ayurveda unit here.
The training began on November 22 under the guidance of A N Narayanan, the successor of a great lineage of Ashtavaidyas (Ayurvedic families of Kerala), Chairman and Managing Director of the SNA Oushadhasala Private Limited, Dr P P N Vasudevan Mooss said.
Personnel from Italy have been coming here to learn the Ayurvedic system for past ten years, he said, adding, about 500 persons from Italy had undergone training of the special technique.
Ayurveda was getting popular in Italy for various reasons, Dr Antonio Moandi, who is leading the Italian team from Italy’s Ayurvedic Point, said.
A large number of people from the European Union, USA and Arabian Gulf had undergone Ayurvedic system-based treatment, Director of the Amala Ayurveda Hospital and Research Centre, Fr Deljo Puthur said.
