AYURVEDA HELPS IN CEREBRAL PALSY


Cerebral palsy refers to a group of neurological disorders that appear in infancy or childhood and permanently affect body movement and muscle co-ordination. 

Symptoms:
  • Lack of muscle co-ordination when performing voluntary movements (ataxia)
  • Stiff or tight muscles and exaggerated reflexes (spasticity)
  • Walking with one foot or leg dragging
  • Walking on the toes, a crouched gait, or a 'scissored ' gait
  • Muscle tone that is either too stiff or too floppy
Causes:

Cerebral palsy is usually due to brain damage in the first few months or years of life, brain infections such as bacterial meningitis or viral encephalitis, or head injury.

Ayurveda treatment for Cerebral Palsy:
Ayurveda has shown very good results in patients of Cerebral palsy. Though cerebral palsy may not be fully cured, Ayurvedic treatment can definitely help to reduce disability and improve the functioning of the affected individual to a great extent.The Ayurvedic treatment of cerebral palsy focuses on treating the presenting symptoms and attempting to reverse the brain damage.

AYURVEDA CURE FOR MIGRAINE


Migraine is very common these days and is considered as a problem of the nervous system.
Migraine is defined as a condition where you have severe and recurring headache accompanied by nausea. The frequency and the nature of pain vary from person to person and in general the headache is felt only on one side of the head.

Symptoms:

  • Mainly mild, moderate or severe pain in the head, part of the head, forehead or the eyes.
  • Uneasiness
  • Loss of appetite
  • Nausea
  • Difficulty in sleeping
Causes:

Ayurveda states that a humour called “Vata” controls the nervous system and brain activity. Due to imbalance in vata, migraine happens. Vata imbalance are the result of mental or physical stress, improper metabolism, poor elimination, sleeplessness, reading with insufficient light, viewing TV for long period etc.
The main reasons behind Migraine are discussed below:

Lifestyle Reasons
  • Life full of tension and worry out of hectic schedule and overloaded with responsibilities
  • Some immediate problems like financial problems
  • Continuous exposure to toxins and chemical pollutants
  • Due to the habit of chain smoking
  • Unexpected change in climate
  • Too much viewing of television with lot of visual and sound effects
  • Improper sleep pattern
  • Due to pubertal changes in Girls
  • Due to starvation
  • Extreme excitement or sorrow can ignite migraine.
Diet Reasons
  • Ajinomoto in food (Monosodium Glutamate)
  • Foods rich in oil and spice can cause migraine
  • Foods that are fermented with too much yeast
  • Saccharin
  • Consuming beverages like tea, coffee and colas
  • Over usage of diary products
  • Meat products that are not fresh
  • Grapes and raisins
